06/03/2024 - Rill Rill - Episode 011
An irresistible groove by Funkadelic sampled 40 years later takes us on a wild ride across funk, hip hop and jazz before the songwriting of Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller take us across doo wop and the blues to the crunchy psychedelic sounds of Big Brother & The Holding Company. While I made a research error later in the show, this happy accident led us from Kendrick Lamar & Beyonce to the amazing story of Tom Wilson, the man in the studio who shaped the breakthrough sounds of Bob Dylan, Frank Zappa, Simon & Garfunkel, The Velvet Underground and so many more.
