12/4/23 - "December 4th" - Episode 002
Thanks to everyone who tuned in for our mini-tribute to Sean Corey Carter, a.k.a. Jay-Z. His autobiographical track December 4th was the jumping off point that took us to stories about how reggae spread to the world thanks to Jimmy Cliff's "The Harder They Come", the modern analog soul sound of Daptone Records, the connection between Bobby Byrd, James Brown and The Native Tongues, and so much more while weaving in a few of my favorite Jay-Z tracks.
See you again on 12/18!
